BLACK IS: BOUNDLESS

G.O.A.T. Film Club is excited to share our latest season of cinema titled BLACK IS: BOUNDLESS, a film screening and panel discussion series celebrating Black, African and diaspora stories and creativity. 

Funded by the BFI Audience Projects Fund awarding National Lottery Good Cause funding, with additional support from the National Film and Television School from November to December 2026, G.O.A.T Film Club is screening a range of expansive, thoughtful, and under-showcased titles from independent Black cinema at venues across London. The programme explores the boundlessness of the Black, African and diaspora experience through three feature-length film screenings and a short film series, beginning with the archival film Black Joy (1977), followed by the stunning documentary Seeds (2025), and Rungano Nyoni’s drama On Becoming a Guinea Fowl (2024).

Our selection invites audiences to reconnect with films that have received limited mainstream exhibition, spotlighting Black, African, and diaspora creativity beyond Black History Month. Through Q&A discussions with directors, writers, and featured actors following each feature film screening, the BLACK IS: BOUNDLESS season not only creates a sustained space for the exploration and celebration of Black cinema but also sparks dialogue between audiences and creators.
