BLACK IS: BOUNDLESS is a curated season of cinema exploring the breadth, complexity, and creative possibility of Black cinematic storytelling. Running across London from October to December 2026, we are bringing together independent films, filmmaker conversations, and an industry discussion to extend discourse around representation, authorship, and the cultural visibility of Black cinema beyond Black History Month.
Interweaving the stories of three Black generational farmers to create a collective and intimate portrait of farming today, SEEDS is a moving and powerful exploration of their lives, joys, and struggles as well as the fragility of legacy and owning land.
Winner of the U.S.Grand Jury Prize: Documentary at Sundance Film Festival 2025, the film documents the farmers' everyday lives - cotton harvesting, chasing cows, dealing with broken machinery, and financial precarities. The camera relishes simple moments - conversations through car windows, candy from grandma’s purse as it captures moments of warmth, joy, and fulfillment, turning them into striking vignettes that honor the families’ connections to the land and each other.
